This October marks the return of an exciting weekend of cycling with the Kirra Criterium Classic and the Tour de Valley. Taking place on the Southern Gold Coast, these two events invite cyclists from all over the region to take part in multiple circuits that provide some of the best scenery in Queensland.
The Kirra Criterium Classic will commence the events with 1.2 kilometre circuit along the foreshore of Kirra, beginning and finishing at the intersection of Musgrave Street and Douglas Street. Seven divisions will separate the races throughout the day, including the Men’s Division 3, Men’s Division 2, Junior Division 1, Junior Division 2, Women’s Open, Women’s Division 2, and the Men’s Open. The Kirra Criterium Classic is open to all ages and fitness levels, and will be presenting rewarding prizes to for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
The following day, the Tour de Valley will continue the races, which will focus on the Solo Time Trial, Team Cycling Challenge, Corporate Team Challenge, and Kids on 2 Wheels Junior Riding Challenge. The Solo Time Trial and Team Cycling Challenge will comprise of 18 kilometre, 36 kilometre, and 72 kilometre distances, providing a fantastic personal challenge and the opportunity to test your stamina.
All you need to take part in the Kirra Criterium Classic and the Tour de Valley is a roadworthy bike! Both events are open to all cycling enthusiasts, and offer a rewarding challenge and experience whilst taking you on a circuit of the beautiful Southern Gold Coast.
The Kirra Criterium Classic will take place on October 20 and the Tour de Valley on the following day on October 21. It’s a thrilling weekend of scenic cycling!
